I want to stretch or swap out the swing arm. im looking for 3-6 in. depending on which way i go. any opinions on stretching or swapping and whats the easiest swing arm to use. how about using a wider tire. and i might swap the front ...Mar 16, 2021 · Introduced in 1977, the Kawasaki KZ1000 would set the standard for generations of liter-size superbikes to come. Some of the 81 KZ1000's suffered crankshaft problems - but the chances are after 25 years the bike has one of the good cranks. The problem was the KZ1000 crank was pressed together - and some of the tolerances were too sloppy and some of the cranks twisted. Nov 8, 2008 · True, true and true. Also true - a big heavy bike at very low speeds is a handful and is harder to pick up with you do fall over. Use a dial gauge on the stem with the valve head off the seat to determine wear if you haven't a small bore gauge for measuring the guide bore and micrometer for the stem,. It always surprises me when people want to go to lower than stock gearing on these KZ bikes. Mine came stock with 16/38 gears which forces the engine to spin 5000 @ 70 mph, and that's on a bike with a 7600 redline. Forking ridiculous.
